The snow came down – sadly I couldn’t get to ‘Pages’, the Leeds Book Fair and even getting to the studio was challenging some days!! It’s odd really the snow disrupts ones freedom and arrangements yet it’s quite fascinating and I spent time just watching it.
I did mange to make progress on the Yard of Red Chintz book and the folding and hole making were completed and yesterday we had a bit of sunshine which glinted through the holes.
The snow encouraged me to experiment with a more abstract take on the fabric fragments – all those big blobs of unrecognisable plants under the snow that I could see from the studio window. I managed to seal them yesterday, the first day when the temperature was reasonable – we are back to snow again this morning. The printing will have to wait until it’s a bit warmer for the inks to become pliable.
